xlorettax: barbara's documentary

DOES ANYONE KNOW OF BARBARA COOK OVERTON'S DOCUMENTARY ABOUT SIERRA LYONNE, AFRICA?
IF SO, DO YOU KNOW WHEN IT WAS PREMIERED IN MEMPHIS?
I'M CURIOUS BECAUSE MY MUSIC IS SUPPOSED TO BE IN THE FILM, BUT SHE HASN'T KEPT IN TOUCH WITH ME RECENTLY ABOUT WHEN THE FILM WOULD BE SHOWN IN THE INDIE FILM FESTIVAL. I THINK SHE MENTIONED SOMETIME THIS FALL.

I'M CURIOUS TO KNOW IF THERE IS ANY WEBSITE I CAN VIEW IT FROM.

THANKS,
TIFF

bohemefem: Looking for a few things for a documentary

Hi everyone. I'm working on a documentary and for the re-creation of one of the scenes I need a HUGE moving waterfall picture. We do have a budget for this although not a huge budget as this is a small news documentary.

I have in my mind a certain type of waterfall ... but would be willing to look at anything you have.

If you LOVE your waterfall picture and want to keep it but would consider letting us use it for a week for a fee ... I'd be happy to talk to you about that as well.

ALSO: We are looking for a 1991 Maroon Ford Taurus to rent for a couple of days.

ALSO: We are looking for a 1991ish Blue Mazda RT

ALSO: We are looking for a fake brick fireplace ... very cheesy looking ... very fake looking ...

Thanks much!!!

Sabrina

shadow_fool: Greetings

Welcome!

Glad you stopped by. I have created this community to hopefully serve as a meeting ground and discussion house for the various Memphis folk who are in the independent production scene. There seems to be a lot of talented people running about Memphis with cameras and such, and it occured to me that there isn't really a way for everyone to communicate.

So here we are.

If you're interested, drop by and introduce yourself. Talk about what you're working on, swap war stories, beg for help, or just chitchat. If you have a production company with a website, let me know and I will put up a link. If you know of any other local active internet discussion groups about the Memphis production scene, post 'em up.

A bit about myself:

I am a independent filmmaker living in Memphis. Armed only with good spirits and copies of Independent Filmmaking and Screenwriting for Dummies, I am working on two productions currently. One, a short film entitled Clown Killer is in the script-writing stage, the other is a hopefully soon to be ongoing television show on Public Access called The Enigma Chronicles. I have started a production company, Mythomania Productions, with some friends and we are working diligently to figure out what the hell we are doing and why there is no money for anything and where the coke and strippers are that Robert Downey promised us. Or something like that. Periodically, I do some contracted production work for the fine folks at Time Warner Communications but am always looking for more to do and more to learn.

So you there, stop lurking around with that camera and talk to us already!

Sincerely,

Victor D Lorthos
